Eight limbed toddler to undergo operation
Mikey 5 commentsLakshmi Tatma is set to undergo a forty hour operation to remove 4 of her useless limbs. Thirty surgeons will perform the dangerous operation, which if successful will allow the toddler to lead a relatively normal life.
Some individuals believe Lakshmi (born and residing in India) to be the reincarnation of the multiple limbed Hindu Goddess Vishnu. Coincidentally, Lakshmi was born on the day of celebration devoted to the Hindu Goddess.

Friday 9th November 2007 | 01:48 PMIf it was 30 surgeons, it would have been something like 10 teams of 3. The surgery took 12-14 hours, if I remember correctly, and most will only operate for 3-4 hours tops.

looking at the pic, it makes you wonder which pair of legs are viable. im guessing the first pair at the very top. hard to believe this child was going to be one of a triplet

Tuesday 6th November 2007 | 02:08 PMThat poor child, the surgery will no doubt be intensely traumatic also. I am extremely surprised that they would risk doing the entire operation in one go, the risk would really be outwaying the benefit.
