The man had barricaded himself into the room, but not enough. Police were able to move the door enough to peer through. He was choking his three year old granddaughter, who was covered in blood and screaming.

Police forced their way in which lead to a struggle, and a tazer was used to control him. He appeared normal at first but they soon realised he wasn't breathing. Resuscitation attempts failed, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
