Explore the Ice Man in high res
Mikey 13 commentsHere's something for the 'awesome' category. Icemanphotoscan.eu is a new web site that lets you view the the 5300 year old frozen stone age warrior in high resolution glory.
You can pan around and zoom in the same fashion you would on Google maps, except on this web site you can zoom right in to view some astonishing detail.
150,000 high definition images were scanned from 12 angles for the project. Check it out.

Friday 6th March 2009 | 08:25 PMIntriguing! Leaves me with a lot of unanswered questions though. For instance, were they able to determine his cause of death, or who he was, more specifically than a stone age warrior, and why was HIS body preserved. Are there others? ?????? : )
That is pretty awesome! I love the really high resolution, I can see his Ice Man pores! The tatoo was interesting as well. Though interestingly enough, I'm in the mood for bacon all of a sudden...

Just had to have a look after what you said and I noticed it looks circumcised as well - albeit squished and flat and pointing up.
I need to get out more....
Shamen and Jake, you two are just as bad as kids looking at a National Geographic for boobies! You do realize there's better, less mummified, schlongs on the interwebs.
