The Whopper Sacrifice
Mikey 4 commentsThis is actually very clever marketing and a interesting way to strain some Facebook relationships at the same time.
Burger King in the US of A has created a Facebook app - the Whopper Sacrifice - that will give you a coupon for a free burger on one condition - you have to delete 10 friends from your Facebook profile.
Now before you go and remove Bill Gates and 9 others consider for a moment that if you do, the activity will be in plain sight, something to the effect of "Steve Balmer sacrificed Bill Gates for a free whopper".
I'm pretty certain this offer doesn't apply to us here in Australia (Hungry Jacks as it's known here) but I'll be watching my Facebook activity closely all the same :-)
I'm tempted to sign up for facebook just to do this. But my hatred of social networking sites trumps my need for a nice Whopper. As far as Carl's Jr. goes, or Hardee's as it is here, they're not too bad. I just hate driving 40 miles to get one. I have two BK's less than a mile from my house.

Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll change my mind.
...in response to this comment by Jim. I wonder how many people might consider joining FB, adding 10 friends (and the Sacrifice app) and then then promptly removing them for the free Whopper :-) You could do it all day.

Really in the US if you want a good fast food burger you go to Carl's Jr.
