Clint Eastwood retires from acting
Mikey 7 commentsThe 78 year old iconic actor says he has had enough of the acting game and is no longer seeking new roles. However he still plans on directing films, and his latest, Gran Torino, is already tipped for an Oscar nomination.
"You always want to quit while you are ahead," he said. "You don't want to be like a fighter who stays too long in the ring until you're not performing at your best."
On the record, I absolutely adore Clint Eastwood. The Dirty Harry movies are easily among my favourite of all time, particularly the first one, so it is with a slight dismay that I accept this news.
Anyway, Clint makes great movies, and is already planning his next movie titled 'The Human Factor', which will star Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela.
yeah dirty harry movies, now tell me did i shoot 5 bullets or 6...the usual good lines he had in his movies..punk!!
I always thought Morgan Freeman would play Nelson Mandela one day. So thats good news.
On the plus side with Clint Eastwood, he'll still be making stellar movies, just not in front of the camera. My favourite Eastwood movie was In The Line Of Fire.
...in response to this comment by Laiste. In The Line of Fire is great and it has Gary Cole as an bonus!
As long as he is still directing, I don't care what he does. He has always been an underrated actor and a lot of that comes from trying to shake the spaghetti westerns and the Dirty Harry character. He has been brilliant as a director and is one of the few directors that can actually get me to spend money just one his name alone.
Wow Clint say it isn't so.
