Groovy: Raimi confirms Evil Dead 4

Although I'm pleased as punch to hear this news, I am still finding it a bit hard to believe.

Both Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have specifically stated on numerous occasions that there will never be an Evil Dead IV.

So what's changed? While speaking at Comic-con Raimi said:

"I love working with Bruce Campbell and... He's super willing to do anything to make it right. He's a very funny guy, but mostly he's got this quality where he will physically do anything to get the shot done right, so I would love to work with Bruce again because I'd love to test those limits. I'd love to make another Evil Dead picture. And actually that's in the wheelhouse. I'd like to work on it with my brother Ivan when he comes up next week."

It's actually reassuring to hear it from the horses mouth so early on, where this could have easily been just another in the long line of false rumours.

Well I'm a big fan of Bruce and the Evil Dead trilogy, so if Bruce and Raimi are onboard, I'm all for it.

Thanks for the ED news. I have a sound file somewhere where Bruce shouts 'There will be no evil dead four'. If your movie whore guy is in contact with Bruce you should get him to email it to him :-P

...in response to this comment by Dan L.. I already have my guy on it.

I would love to see ED4. It will be interesting to see where they take the story and if the chainsaw makes a comeback. As long as it is Bruce, Sam and Ivan I am sure it will not disappoint.

Yeah, another sequel! These are visionary guys, it is like bringing the repeat appeal of television to the big screen, and it is good money too!

I'll be at the cinema for it!

As the first was a horror, the second a horror comedy, and the third a fantasy comedy adventure, I wonder what the fourth could be???

No way is this for real? I can't believe I missed this news. It seems pretty low key.
