Breast cancer prevention drug created
Mikey 2 commentsScientists have created a new drug that could prevent thousands of women from developing breast cancer
The drug is intended for women with a family history of breast cancer who are in a high risk area of developing the disease.
Researcher Dr Ruth Plummer said:
"The implications for women and their families are huge because if you have the gene, there is a 50 per cent risk you will pass it on to your children. You are carrying a time bomb"
Unfortunately the drug will not be available for another ten years.
