Germany to outlaw Scientology
Mikey 3 commentsBerlin: German officials say they are taking steps to outlaw the Church of Scientology.
According to the German Government, Scientology is not a religion, but rather a commercial enterprise designed to take advantage of vulnerable people.

Tuesday 11th December 2007 | 11:28 AMMost churches do perform charitable actions, however, most religions do not require money to join/advance in that religion.
Quote toward the bottom of the link from Readers Digest about Hubbard describing a religion as a good way to make money.

Tuesday 11th December 2007 | 09:15 AMComercial entiprise? I would have thought that a scientology parisoner would get the same out of their membership as a christian would out of their church... This will likely set an interesting presadence and hopefully set in motion the wheels for the abolition of tax exemtion status for all churches.
I would much rather see charitable organisations receive tax exemption for their work than the church for 'saving souls'.
