Kevin Smith Resurrects The Movie Whore from the grave with RED STATE

Anyone who has ever read my shit knows Kevin Smith is my favorite filmmaker. I love the guy. I even love all the EVENING WITH DVDs he has done. I don't give a shit about much else, but film is my thing so what he does there is really all I care about and with RED STATE he made me want to watch a movie again. He got me excited about the future of film for the first time in years.
You see I had this plan for taking Hollywood down. I even had the guys to help me do it, hell I even had the guy to bank roll it, but nobody would listen to me. You see this guy in LA had a great new way to ....

How many times do you think this story can be told. How many young soldiers have come back from the Middle East with the same revised outlook on life. How long are we the people going to allow ourselves to be manipulated into thinking we are doing the right thing in the world, when we are in fact supporting the corporate giants that now rule our planet.
Can you imagine the guilt? The nightmares? The horrifying visions? How much difficulty will this good man have going to have as he plods through his life? How much of a burden will he carry with him every day as he raises his c....

Bras are false advertising

There are literally hundreds and thousands of types of breasts out there. I am truly thankful for this. But recently it has dawned upon me that each and every time I see a woman naked, her breasts are nothing like they were advertised to be when I met her.
With all of the technology of the modern world going into bras, we have become accustomed to being deceived. It is simply not the case that every woman is going to have nice big, perky, firm breasts. But if she is wearing a bra, there is really no way to know what lies are underneath – pun intended.
For all I know yo....

361 To Go- Our Stay-cation

Progress on the wedding plans- none; though eloping is sounding promising to me at the moment.
I’ve just got back from my Christmas present, a stay-cation in a gorgeous hilltop house with views of the sea and rolling farm land. The best thing about it was the bed was perfectly comfy, I didn’t have to worry about whether I’d packed the right clothes (or enough clothes) and the fridge was already full, so we didn&rsqu....

Progress on the wedding plans- still none. See yesterdays entry.
More catching up with family, eating and drinking tonight. If there is one thing to love about the holiday season it’s the eating and the drinking. I suppose if you’re in the northern hemisphere this is easier to deal with as you get to wear warm winter clothes and layers to hide the growing bulges. Not so easy here in Australia. I’m definitely looking rather muffiny. Note ....

Progress on the wedding plans- none.
Who can do any wedding planning this close to Christmas? Its called the silly season for a reason. Though, for some weird reason this Christmas is the least Christmassy feeling Christmas that I can remember. Maybe it’s the not so summery weather we are having here in Australia. Or the lack of frenzied Christmas buying at work. Maybe its because we saw all of our family at the beginning of the month for our engagement so we have already seen everyone and eaten till we were full....

366 To Go- Countdown to a Wedding

The date is set. 21st December 2012. This time next year I shall be a married woman. Woo hoo. Not surprisingly I am very much looking forward to it. I’ve never been married before so this is something of an adventure. My future husband is a brave man. He’s been there and done that twice now and I’ll be his third time lucky. So at least one of us has had a chance to practice.
Why the date? Well for a number of reasons. 21st December is summer solstice here in the southern hemisphere. Always a good day to party. Plus, symbolically, it represents having more “da....

To Steve’s family, co-workers, colleagues, friends and those he inspired…
I say this as someone who has spent their entire life in, on and around computers. Since primary school I had a fascination with them and since early high school I have been programming, developing, designing and eventually working with, computers. And for most of that time, I took for granted how they came to be.
Like so many, I grew up using whatever computers I could get my hands on – the first one that was truly “mine” being a 286 running DOS. I admired the visionarie....

my story starts/overlaps from a part article i wrote, so here goes.
just recently, my husband and i received a lovely, but quite unexpected surprise. we were pregnant, which blew us both away considering all the crap we went through with our first pregnancy. the timing was....
