Seinfeld's first Microsoft advert

Seinfeld's first Microsoft advert

It's not what I expected, in fact you could also say it's an advert about nothing. Sorry about that :-) I think the funniest part was Bill Gates' platinum card has his real life mugshot photo on it.

Anyway here is the first of presumably many adverts of Jerry Seinfeld pimping Microsoft products.

Enjoy.

I never thought that jerry Seinfeld was that funny. Now I know he is not funny. That commercial is down right painful. If that's the best add that Bill's money can buy then we are in desperate need of creative people to go get degrees in marketing.

It's not that fuuny. Not that there's anything wrong with that :-P

I thought this campaign was to get people excited about Windows? I think it's done the opposite.

Where's that part that's supposed to make me want to go out and buy Windows?

People in marketing have degrees?

It didn't make me want to buy Microsoft, but I thought it was pretty funny.

I think you guys just don't get the sense of humor going on here. It's all about awkward creepy moments between the two of them. Like the showering with clothes on thing or the creepy smile after Bill said "leather". I think this hit exactly where Seinfeld was going...

...in response to this comment by Rodney. Beilive or not but for commercials the guys that come up with the ads typically do have degrees in Business and Marketing. I looked at getting a marketing degree at one point in time but never had the cash to go back and get the 4 year degree.

...in response to this comment by Rodney. Colour me slightly offended. I have a degree in Business Management & Marketing!

I think the irony here is the new ads were supposed to combat Microsoft's 'fuddy duddy' image by showing the world they can be hip and cool as well, so in this regard they have failed.

The advert isn't terrible, but it's hardly anything to get excited about and it does nothing to squash the Windows stereotype they were supposed to suppress.

Maybe Microsoft was created by the US gov't to create competition for Mac, the same way Fannie Mae was created by the gov't to create competition for Freddie Mac (not to be confused w/ Mac-intosh).

One never knows...........

Unfunny, uninspiring and uninspired, maybe i'm missing the punch line or smth. I think the PC guy from the Mac advert is funnier.

...in response to this comment by Litem. Agreed. I like Seinfeld but John Hodgman is much funnier.
