I love Firefox. But I like Opera too. I rely on Firefox's various developer addons for work, but I reckon if it wasn't for them then I'd be using Opera.

Too true. I am a Firefox user but I probably alone count for 10 or more downloads, through various computers and reinstalls.None the less, I'm a true Firefox convert and will never go back to IE.

400 million is a big number but that doesn't mean there are the same number of people using Firefox. Retenion is one of Mozilla's biggest hurdles (Google "firefox retention" to read all about it).The strange thing is that Firefox is a superior browser in every respect. Opera is a great browser too even though nobody uses it (http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp) and there are a lot of things I like about it.'Underdog' by definition is the party most expected to lose, so by that token whether FF is an underdog or not will depend on who you ask.

Hell yea, Firefox is awesome! I switched over maybe 2 years or so ago now and am completely happy with it. I completely recommend it. And you can't beat a recommendation coming from some random guy on the intertubes!
